Autor

David Wood is an actor, composer, producer, director, lyric writer, magician, author and playwright, writing and directing a string of theatre hits, all for children, including stage adaptations of well-known books. The Times described him as 'the national children's dramatist'. He was awarded an OBE in 2004 for his services to literature and drama.
Paul Bateson studied Acting at Bretton Hall College (University of Leeds) in 2002-2005 and since 2008 has been a Drama teacher promoting values led education. He has been lead teacher for Drama, and Citizenship, and devised a blended curriculum for Year7. In 2015 he completed an MA (Education) with a focus on dramatic technique - 'Mantle of the expert'
His work with teachers includes speaking at international conferences, workshop and keynote for ITT / NQT for Wakefield and Barnsley providers, and as a tutor with Drama and English PGCE students at University of Huddersfield.
Paul is pleased to be in residence at Castleford Park Junior Academy working with teachers to develop a story based curriculum through a programme of evolving CPD.
He works in the creative arts as a practitioner for Leeds Playhouse and Grimm & Co. in Rotherham.
Paul sits on the board of directors of Long Division Festival, Wakefield, and is Education Development Manager for their work with young people. #YoungTeam 2019, their pilot programme was a triumph, and in 2020-21 the education offer is expanding.
He writes articles for TES, Drama and Theatre Magazine, Hopscotch Education, and Independent Thinking Press; and is pleased now to be working alongside Bloomsbury Press as well.
Paul writes poetry and plays and wrote his first full length play, commissioned by Creative Wakefield for Wakefield Wordfest 2020.
His work with teachers and students, adults and young people, and his creative output - focuses on creative and kindness, with candid honesty.
Through innovative and imaginative projects inside and outside the classroom; Paul's mission is to provide meaningful cultural experiences for all people regardless of situation.
Above all he is a do-er and a dreamer.
